FDPFS Diploma in Foundation Studies

The Programme aims to develop students' language proficiency, information technology, interpersonal communication, and other generic skills for further study. It also aims to broaden students' academic horizons through training in a diverse range of subject areas. Graduates should be able to realise their potential and articulate a higher-level academic programme according to their interests.

Objectives

Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to:

• Apply a range of generic skills, including language, interpersonal communication, information technology, and analytical skills, to their daily life, further study, and future employment;

• Demonstrate an understanding of the essential knowledge and skills in hospitality and tourism, creative media, management, applied science, and social science;

• Explain the impact of the emerging economy on their daily lives and future careers;

• Apply self-care and self-management skills to maintain personal wellness and enhance productivity; and

• Develop the ability to become independent lifelong learners.

Applicants are normally required to meet the following requirements:

• Completion of Secondary 6, with Level 1 in English Language and Chinese Language in the DSE Examination; or

• Other acceptable equivalent qualifications (including non-local qualifications obtained in or outside HK, or other qualifications/experience deemed to be equivalent); or

• Mature applicants aged 21 or above.

Applicants will be invited to an admission interview if necessary. Admission is subject to demonstration of aptitude and suitability in an interview.

Semester B:

• Sociology of Everyday Life 日常生活社會學

• General Education Courses II 通識科目 ( 二 ) ; 或 OR
  Fundamentals of Nursing and Health Promotion 護理基本原理及健康推廣 ^

• Graduates can articulate to all LiPACE Higher Diploma (including 7 SSSDP programmes).

• 1+2+2 articulate pathways [Diploma in Foundation StudiesèHigher Diploma/Associate DegreeèBachelor's Degree] are available to the graduates.
