Special Announcement in the Event of Adverse Weather

Signal / Warning / Announcement Issued – Before Activity Hours

If the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Signal* or “Extreme Conditions” is/are in force during the following time periods, or when an announcement is made by the Hong Kong Observatory that the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is likely to be issued during the following time periods:

6:30 am – 9:59 am: All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities commencing before 2:00 pm will be cancelled.
10:00 am – 1:59 pm: All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities commencing between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm will be cancelled.
2:00 pm or after: All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities on that day will be cancelled.

Signal / Warning / Announcement Issued – During Activity Hours

When Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is in force, or when an announcement is made by the Hong Kong Observatory that the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is likely to be issued within the next two hours:

All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities will be terminated and campus facilities will close as soon as possible.

When Black Rainstorm Signal is in force*:

All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities already in progress will continue; self-study facilities will remain open.

*As advised by the Government, people should take shelter in a safe place when Black Rainstorm Signal is in force. If the warning is still in force when activities end, participants are advised to stay on campus for their own safety until the warning has been cancelled or the traffic conditions have improved.

Signal / Warning / Announcement Lowered / Cancelled

When an announcement is made that the Typhoon No. 8 or above, or Black Rainstorm Signal is lowered with no “extreme conditions” in force during the following periods*:

Before/at 6:30 am: All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities on that day will be held as scheduled.
Before/at 10:00 am: All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities commencing at 2:00 pm and after will be held as scheduled.
Before/at 2:00 pm: All Classes/ Examinations/ School Activities commencing at 6:00 pm and after will be held as scheduled.

*Subject to availability of centers and the traffic conditions

Remarks

For adverse weather arrangements of prorgammes/activities organized by HKMU (University Proper), please visit its website.
General Public announcements made by the Education Bureau do NOT apply to the School.
All School's activities will normally be held as scheduled when Typhoon Signal No. 3 or below is in force or when Red / Amber Rainstorm Signal is in force. The arrangement of individual activities will be subject to notification from the organizers.
Special announcement in the event of adverse weather will be made as soon as possible where necessary. School may adjust the above special arrangements guidelines according to actual situations.
Students on placement/practicum outside School campuses should follow the adverse weather arrangements of individual organisations.
Make-up class/ exam schedules will be announced later. Please pay attention to the School announcement in due course.
