Personal Data (Privacy) Statement

  1. The personal data collected about you will be used for the purpose of identifying yourself as HKMU valid users, improving our services and/or providing information for our reply to your enquiry.
  2. The personal data requested is mandatory for us to provide services to you. Please make sure that the data are complete and accurate. If you fail to provide us the data requested or if the data provided is inaccurate or incomplete, we may be unable to provide the services to you.
  3. Personal data held by the University related to you will be kept confidential but they may be provided to appropriate personnel of the University and other parties providing services to the University.
  4. Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“the Ordinance”), you have the right to request access to and correction of personal data held by the University related to you.
  5. If you wish to make access to or correction of your personal data held by the University, you can make such request with the standard forms provided by the University. Copies of these forms can be obtained from the University Data Protection Officer at dpo@hkmu.edu.hk or 30 Good Shepherd Street, Ho Man Tin, Kowloon, Hong Kong. As permitted under the Ordinance, the University may charge you a fee to cover the administrative cost.

About Google Analytics:

  1. Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., is used by the HKMU E-Library in order to analyze the usage of the website. “Cookies” (a small data file) will be placed on your device to collect information about your visit to the website (including information about type of your devices, operating system, browser, your network provider and location, date/time and the pages visited) and the information will be stored by Google.
  2. Google has developed the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more details about Google Analytics’ privacy policies and browser opt-out option, click here.
  3. Your personal data, including user ID and password, for signing in to the E-Library web site will NOT be transmitted to Google.
