FACULTY RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN FOR THE SCHOOL OF NURSING AND HEALTH STUDIES

Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) is a modern, vibrant and dynamic university, which uses innovative teaching and education technology to provide world-class education. HKMU's School of Nursing and Health Studies is one of the largest education and training providers for healthcare professionals in Hong Kong.  The School holds fast to the vision of pioneering flexible and quality education in Nursing and Healthcare. It aims to develop innovative nursing and healthcare programmes at various levels to cater for the full range of community needs.

Currently, the School offers three postgraduate programmes and 10 undergraduate degree and sub-degree programmes and has over 2,600 full-time students and 1,600 part-time students. The School has nurtured over 12,000 nursing graduates, who are now serving as healthcare professionals in various healthcare sectors. With the rapid development of our health-related academic programmes in recent years, we are looking for people at various levels (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Chair Professor), who share our vision and have exceptional ability, to join our effort in providing first-class education and training of healthcare professionals for Hong Kong now and in the future.  Apart from candidates with recognised nursing qualification and Registered Nurse licence, candidates from other disciplines, including Life Sciences, Anatomy, Physiology, Biostatistics, Microbiology, Biomedical, Psychology, etc, are also welcome to apply.  The level of appointment to be offered depends on the candidate's academic background, experience and competence in academic leadership, teaching, research, scholarly publications, etc.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.  Generous annual leave, staff-development sponsorships, medical and dental benefits, and life insurance coverage will also be provided.

Overseas candidates who are successfully appointed by the University and below age 50 will be eligible to apply for the “Accommodation Programme for Overseas Young Teaching Staff” sponsored by the “Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust”.  This programme offers the opportunity to reside in assigned accommodation free of charge for a period of up to six months, subject to terms and conditions.
