Biography

Joyce Cheung is a lecturer in English and Linguistics at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. She obtained her MA in English Language Studies with Distinction from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a BSSc in Communication from Hong Kong Baptist University. Currently pursuing her PhD in Translation Studies, Joyce has participated in a wide range of research projects and has published six indexed journal articles and two book chapters, accumulating over 700 citations since 2019. Her research has been recognized with the Best Paper Award at the International Congress on English Language Education and Applied Linguistics (ICELEAL) in 2022.
Joyce has taught various courses, including semantics, descriptive grammar, translation, university-wide reading and writing skills, and English for nursing students. Her research interests encompass corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, and sustainability, with a focus on linguistic patterns that shape social issues. Her work aims to drive social impact through insightful research and transformative teaching.
