Main Campus (Phase Two)

Facilities Management Office Projects Completed Development Main Campus (Phase Two)

In response to the pressing demand, the University completed the construction of the Campus Phase Two extension, to provide additional space and facilities.  The $230 million project was completed in September 2008.  Fully integrated with the present main building, the new 12-storey structure has a total gross floor area of approximately 14,000 square metres.  The building designed with an atrium connecting Fat Kwong Street and Good Shepherd Street, which facilitates air circulation and minimizes the curtain effect. The building, in accordance with the BEAM for New Buildings (4/04 Version), had achieved the Rating of Gold Standard.

The campus extension encompasses two lecture theatres with a total capacity for over 500 people, which can be used by the University to host large classes, seminars, and international conferences.  Besides, there are more than 30 classrooms which can accommodate 1,600 students altogether.  Other learning facilities include a library extension, and a whole floor of computer rooms.

In addition to classrooms and teaching facilities, the extension building has made available more areas and space for use by students for self-study, discussions, extra-curricular activities and sports games.
