The School of Education and Languages (E&L) of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) collaborated with the Hong Kong Teachers Drama Association Limited, the Hong Kong Creative Educators Organization and the Fourth Apple Foundation Limited to organise the Creative Drama Festival 2025 on 18 May. The aim of the festival was to promote Chinese idiom learning among primary and secondary students through drama.

The festival featured an award ceremony and outstanding performances by both primary and secondary school groups, showcasing their creative interpretations of traditional Chinese idioms. Notably, five students from the HKMU drama course delivered a captivating demonstration of the idiom “危如累卵” (as precarious as stacked-up eggs).

The event celebrated the achievements of 39 participating schools and attracted over 550 attendees, including educators from primary schools, secondary schools and higher-education institutions. It highlighted the power of drama in bringing traditional Chinese idioms to life through imaginative performances.
