Background
The Mathematics Education Conference has been providing a platform to examine different perspectives on mathematics teaching and learning, including student learning, pedagogy, teaching environments, instructional tools and methods for teaching and learning, etc. The Mathematics Education Conference allows educators from different fields to share theories and corresponding practical experiences. With the development of educational technology and the improvement of educational technology, the learning and teaching mode of various educational institutions is also constantly changing, which can promote the professional development of teachers when promoting a paradigm shift in education. At the same time, mathematics teacher training is constantly evolving to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills to implement these innovative approaches in the lesson.
The Hong Kong Association for Mathematics Education organizes Mathematics Education Conference every 2 to 3 years with the aim of:
- to provide a platform for mathematics teachers to share their teaching and learning experiences;
- to provide professional development opportunities for teachers to engage in in-depth discussions and foster future collaborations;
- to support the professional growth and development of in-service and pre-service mathematics teachers; and
- to facilitate connections among faculty and promote opportunities for collaboration and research relationships.
This year, the Hong Kong Mathematics Education Conference 2025 is co-organized by The Hong Kong Association for Mathematics Education and School of Education and Languages, Hong Kong Metropolitan University. It will be held in a hybrid mode for the first time to further extend the collaboration between local and international teachers and scholars.
