Professor Andy CHIN, Dean of the School of Education and Languages (E&L), and Dr. Emily GE, Programme Leader of the Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Child Language Disorders, visited Shandong University from 20 – 23 November 2025. During the four-day visit, the delegation toured the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, and the Language Cognition Rehabilitation Base, engaged in academic exchange with local scholars, shared insights with students, and explored various teaching facilities. They also experienced VR simulations that replicate real-life scenarios faced by individuals with communication disorders, enabling participants to understand the challenges of communication and explore methods to improve language expression and comprehension.

One of the key outcomes of this visit was the signing of an exchange and cooperation agreement between the two schools, along with the joint establishment of the “Talent Development Base for Cultivating Postgraduate Students in Communication Sciences and Child Language Disorders ”. This base will provide diverse and professional practicum opportunities with cutting-edge technology to cultivate the students of E&L's new Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Child Language Disorder programme to master the core skills in diagnosis, assessment, intervention, and support in child language disorders,  and to provide professional services to Mandarin-speaking children with communication disorders and enhance our students' competitiveness.
