HKMU outstanding prospective teachers recognised with accolades

Thirteen HKMU students were recognised for their exceptional teaching skills and passion for education at the 12th Hong Kong Outstanding Prospective Teachers Award. Among them, So Yuk-yu and Chang Sin received the prestigious Gold Award, while Long Wanting, Lo Man-ling, Wong Yuet-sze and Xie Peishan earned the Silver Award. Stephy Wong Yuk-yan and Siu Chi-fung were recognised with the Bronze Award, and Lin Yan-yi, Wendy Susana Chau Zhong, Chan Yui-pui, Poon Yin-ting and Lau Ching-yan received the Merit Award.

The Hong Kong Outstanding Prospective Teachers Award aims to encourage prospective teachers to equip themselves to become outstanding teachers, improving lives and driving social progress through education. This year’s competition saw nearly 150 participants. After rounds of interviews and teaching demonstrations, 30 winners were selected for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, along with 18 Merit award recipients. Ms Michelle Li Mei-sheung, Permanent Secretary for Education, graced the award presentation ceremony as the Guest of Honour, where she encouraged all prospective teachers to actively nurture more local talent.
