New Writer-/Artist-/Scientist-in-residence Programmes

The Department of Creative Arts of the School of Arts and Social Sciences kicked off this year’s Residency Programmes with an exciting batch of creative talent. The programmes’ intake included scientist Dr Yeung Sai-kit, artists Tommy Li, Kenny Wong and Felix Ip, and writer Erica Li.

Centralising alumni support

The University set up HKMU Alumni Association Limited, a centralised body whose task is to bring together HKMU's alumni, provide opportunities for sharing and networking, and rally support for the University's future development.

HKMU's inaugural performing arts show

A first-ever University-wide culture and performing arts show titled Stories of Love was organised by the School of Arts and Social Sciences. This superb extravaganza of songs, dance and drama marks the beginning of a new annual tradition for HKMU.

Talk of the Metropolis: Dr Louis Ng Chi-wa

This month, the Talk of the Metropolis series of public talks by distinguished experts featured Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum Dr Louis Ng Chi-wa, who shared details of the planning of this striking new museum in a talk titled “New Light on the Forbidden City: A Hong Kong Perspective”.

Welcoming ceremony for scholarship recipients

In total, 103 new students arriving at HKMU in September 2022 were recipients of Entrance Scholarships. To recognise their achievements and welcome this special group to the University, HKMU organised a formal Welcoming Ceremony for Entrance Scholarships Recipients.

Celebrations for CBMP graduates

The latest batch of graduates of HKMU’s Capacity Building Mileage Programme (CBMP) received their diplomas at the 18th Graduation Ceremony for Capacity Building Mileage Programme.

HKMU business education excellence recognised

Among accolades won during the year by the Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration was the Diamond Level of the Honorary FinTech Education & Talent Development Awards, in the IFTA FinTech and Innovation Awards 2021–22.
