The Alumni Affairs Office of the Public Affairs Unit organized three advancement talks in February. Three professionals from different sectors shared their experience of success with our alumni and students.

How can one develop a career in a China-based company? Mr Leon Lai gave the answer to 120 alumni and students in his speech entitled 'Develop a Brilliant Career' on 20 February. Currently General Manager of International Business for Tmall.com, a business-to-customer trade platform of Alibaba Group in China, Mr Lai shared his valuable experience over the past seven years, during which he successfully introduced Taobao, a famous brand of Alibaba, to the international market. He also elucidated how the company's six core values, in particular the firm belief in 'never giving up', helped him reach his career peak.

The Alumni Affairs Office raised $50,000 for the Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund to provide assistance to outstanding or financially needy students. The Fund will be matched 100% by the Mr Vincent Woo Matching Donation Fund.
