The Alumni Affairs Office of the Public Affairs Unit organized the talk 'The Cosmetics Industry: Opportunities in the Asia Pacific Region' on 1 February 2010.  The speakers were Borghese Limited Brand Manager (China) Ms Betty Wong and Training Manager Ms Suzanne Choi. 150 students and alumni attended the talk, and about 40% of them were male. Ms. Wong, who has 17 years of experience in the cosmetics industry, pointed out that cosmetology included not only make-up but also personal care. Make-up has become a kind of social etiquette and is no longer unique to women. The market for male beauty products is getting bigger and has enormous potential. Ms. Choi has 13 years of experience in the beauty industry. She said that an interviewer could often tell the work attitude of the interviewee from his or her appearance, which also formed the first impression. Ms. Choi demonstrated make-up skills for job interviews and provided tips on dressing and hair styling. Borghese cosmetics products were presented as lucky draw prizes.
