The Screening and Sharing Session of “Another World” was successfully held on 31 January 2026 (Saturday). The event featured our outstanding alumna and the film's key animator, Miss Hilary Tang, who shared her filmmaking journey with guests, alumni, students, and staff members of HKMU.

During the Q&A session, the audience grasped the opportunity to ask Hilary about the seven-year creative journey behind the film. She shared that there were many moments of uncertainty and challenge throughout the process. She explained that a single second of footage on screen could take an animator an entire week, or even half of a month, and hundreds of revisions to complete. Yet the immense satisfaction of finishing each scene, coupled with the mutual support and encouragement within the team, made all the late nights and hard work worthwhile.

Hilary also spoke about her sources of inspiration. To accurately capture the character’s every movement, she personally went to swimming pools and gyms to experience how the body feels when floating in water, running, and falling. She used this muscle memory to transform those sensations into vivid characters and compelling visuals.

Reflecting on her time studying animation-related courses at the University, Hilary noted how those learning experiences deeply influenced the way she planned her career path. She shared practical tips for entering the industry and exchanged professional insights with students, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.

The event offered participants the chance to enjoy this touching Hong Kong animated film together. Through several fantastical stories, the film explores themes of life and death, obsession, and forgiveness, leaving a lasting impression and much for the audience to reflect on.
