To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the OUHK, the Alumni Affairs Office organized the Green Cuisine Competition, a green recipe design and cooking competition. It received fifteen creative recipes from OU members, and five finalist teams were selected by 600 voters for proceeding to the finale held on 2 March. Director of Public Affairs Mr Stephen Ng Chin-ming, Honorary Professor of the School of Science and Technology Prof. David Lee Ka-yan, and Psychiatry specialist Dr Dominic Lee Tak-Shing were the guest judges at the finale.

After a keen competition, the Champion went to the team led by Ms Wan Chi-wing, a student of our distance learning programme. The teams of Dr Bobbie Chan, Assistant Professor of Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, and Alumna Ms Fan Wai-sheung won the 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up respectively. The Alumni Affairs Office thanked Alumnus Dr Steve Cheng Chun-fai for his in-kind sponsorship. By this Competition, the Alumni Affairs Office raised $108,000 for the Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund to provide assistance to outstanding or financially needy students. The Fund will be matched 100% by the Prof. John C. Y. Leong Service Appreciation Scholarship.
