Alumni Rules and Regulations for HKMU Alumni Campus Access

Rules and Regulations for HKMU Alumni Campus Access

  1. Access Eligibility:

1.1.  Alumni may apply for access to the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (the University) campuses for participation in the University activities. Access is limited to the Main Campus (MC), Jockey Club Campus (JCC), and Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare (IOH) only, and is subject to approval from the Development and Alumni Affairs Office.

1.2. Access to MU Tower is restricted to current students and staff who are enrolled in classes held there, or to guests of activities or events to be organised at the location.

  2. Purpose of Access:

    2.1.
Access is granted exclusively for specific activities recognised and authorised by the University, including but not limited to events, meetings, and educational programmes. Alumni must provide relevant documentation verifying their participation in these approved activities when submitting their campus access application. Applications submitted without the required documentation will be rejected.

  3. Resource Limitations:

3.1. Due to limitations on resources, space, and facilities on campus, all the space and facilities are reserved exclusively for current students and staff. Alumni shall not utilise campus resources or facilities unless they have received prior authorisation for participation in an approved event.

  4. Application Timeline:

4.1. All applications for campus access must be submitted no less than three (3) business days prior to the intended access date to facilitate adequate processing and approval.

  5. Compliance with Regulations:

5.1. Alumni are obligated to adhere to all University regulations, policies, and instructions while on campus. Non-compliance, as well as interference with students, staff, or other University's stakeholders, will result in disciplinary measures, including, but not limited to, suspension or permanent exclusion from campus access.

5.2. By receiving and using the QR code, confirmation email, or other entry tools provided by the Development and Alumni Affairs Office to enter the University campuses, alumni acknowledge and agree that they have read and agreed to the Rules and Regulations for HKMU Alumni Campus Access. They also agree to comply with all University policies, regulations, instructions, and applicable laws.

5.3. The QR code, confirmation email, and any other entry tools provided by the Development and Alumni Affairs Office are issued exclusively for the personal use of the applicant and are strictly non-transferable. The transfer, assignment, or loan of such entry tools by any alumni to any other individual constitutes a breach of University policy and will result in disciplinary measures, including, but not limited to, suspension or permanent exclusion from campus access.

  6. Application Review Process:

6.1. The Development and Alumni Affairs Office retains the discretionary authority to review, approve, or deny any campus access applications without the obligation to provide justification.

  7. Repeated Application Policy:

7.1. Alumni who submit three (3) or more invalid applications – defined as applications that fail to meet the stated eligibility criteria, lack required documentation, or are deemed unrelated to the approved University activities – will have all subsequent applications permanently denied.

  8. Behavioural Expectations:

8.1. Any conduct that is deemed inappropriate or disruptive by the University, campus management authorities, schools, or offices may result in immediate revocation of campus access privileges and permanent exclusion from future access.

  9. Miscellaneous:

9.1. In case of any disputes or inconsistencies, the English version of the regulations shall prevail.

9.2. The University and the Development and Alumni Affairs Office hereby reserve the right to amend, modify, or rescind the terms of these regulations without prior notice. All decisions made by the University and the Development and Alumni Affairs Office shall be deemed final and binding.

These regulations are established to foster a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for all members of the University community while allowing alumni to engage effectively with the campus.
