Upon payment of the tuition fee, students will receive an email asking them to indicate their preference for printed version. The printing fee is 3% of the course fee. Once the materials are ready, students will be notified via email and can choose to either collect them on campus or have them mailed to the provided address. The mailing fee will be calculated according to the parcel's weight and postal zone.

*Inmate students will continue to receive printed Course Materials for free following current practice.

FAQ

Starting from the 2025 Autumn Term, the transitional Print-on-demand (POD) service of Course Booklets developed by the University (e.g. Study Guides, Study Units, etc.) will be offered instead of providing free printed Course Booklets to all students. Students who require printed Course Booklets can request the POD service at their own expense. The printing fee is 3% of the course tuition fee per course. If you require the electronic version, please access the Course Materials via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).

Upon payment of tuition fee, you will receive an email asking you whether you would like to have the Course Materials printed. If you request the POD service, please indicate your preference and complete the payment. You will receive an email informing you when to collect your Course Materials as soon as they are ready for collection. Please check your HKMU email account regularly during this period and complete the payment before collection.

Printed Course Materials include Course Guide, Study Unit, Study Guide and Readings (if any), etc. For details on the types of Course Materials, please check https://www.hkmu.edu.hk/alto/home/course-material/material-delivery-schedule/.

For Course Materials that don't have electronic versions, such as Assigned Textbooks provided by the University, discs, etc, they will be provided free for all students. No. The purpose of providing the POD service is to align with the University's ESG policy and to reduce wastage of paper. At the same time, in order to ensure prompt delivery of Course Booklets for learning, all printing requests will be processed ASAP. Unless there are changes to your course offering, normally the printing and mailing fees are not refundable or transferable. Therefore, we strongly advise students to make mindful decision of using the POD service.
