Specialised seminar on “Embracing AI in Research”

In November 2024, the ITO took a significant step forward in promoting artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in academic research across Schools. Partnering with the School of N&HS, ITO hosted a specialized seminar titled “Embracing AI in Research”. This seminar aimed at empowering faculty and researchers with cutting-edge AI tools and practical strategies for integrating AI into their research workflows.

This initiative reflects HKMU's commitment to harnessing AI to enhance research efficiency, data analysis, and innovation. Attendees received technical guidance on accessible AI platforms and learned from the N&HS research team on real-world applications and their successful experiences in implementing AI in ongoing projects including:

A comparative analysis of the ChatGPT Web Portal and OpenAI API.
An introduction to leveraging the HKMU AI Hub for seamless AI integration in research projects.
A step-by-step guide to enabling AI in research workflows.
Insights from N&HS pilot users, covering project objectives, AI design and integration, selection of AI services with ITO support, and a live demonstration of AI applications in research.
