Regulations for the Higher Diploma in Mobile Communications Technology

These regulations are made under paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees).

In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.

Higher Diploma in Mobile Communications Technology (HDMCT) (See Note 8)
1. To be eligible for the award of the Higher Diploma in Mobile Communications Technology, a student shall:
  a) comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and
  b) comply with the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees); and
  c)

obtain at least 90 credits in courses prescribed by the regulations including at least 10 credits from Higher level courses.

2. For the Higher Diploma in Mobile Communications Technology, the University has prescribed that a student must:
  a) obtain 10 credits from courses labelled F1 in Table 1; and
  b) obtain 10 credits from courses labelled B1 in Table 1; and
  c) obtain 70 credits from courses labelled HDC in Table 1.

Notes:

  1. Courses form excluded combinations with other courses. Only one of the courses of the excluded combinations can count towards an OUHK award. Students should refer to the list of excluded combinations for details.
     
  2. Courses no longer available.
     
  3. Successful completion of MATH S101 is considered as completion of MATH S111/MATH S121 and MATH S112/MATH S122.
     
  4. Successful completion of ELEC S202 is considered as completion of ELEC S222 and ELEC S225.
     
  5. Successful completion of SCI S319/TC S319 and SCI S409/TC S409 are considered as completion of ENGG S238.
     
  6. Successful completion of BUS B100 is considered as completion of BUS B103.
     
  7. ENGL E100 has been replaced by ENGL E110 and ENGL E120. Successful completion of ENGL E100 is considered as completion of ENGL E110 and ENGL E120.
     
  8. The programme of Higher Diploma in Mobile Communications Technology will be phased out with effect from 2016 Spring term. The last conferment of the programme will be June 2020.
