Regulations for the degree of Doctor of Business Administration (in Chinese)

 

1. General
1.1 These regulations are made under paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees.
1.2 In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.
   
2. Entry Requirements
2.1 To enter the Doctor of Business Administration (in Chinese) programme, a student shall possess:
  2.1.1 A recognized Master’s degree (by research or coursework) in business administration or a business-related field or its equivalent; and
  2.1.2 Substantial working experience at senior management level as determined by the University.
   
3. Doctor of Business Administration (in Chinese) (DBAC)
3.1 To be eligible for the award of the degree of Doctor of Business Administration (in Chinese), a student shall:
  3.1.1 comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and
  3.1.2 comply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees; and
  3.1.3 obtain at least 40 credits of coursework at Postgraduate level as prescribed by the regulations; and
  3.1.4 complete a thesis at doctoral level as prescribed by the regulations.
3.2 For the coursework element of the degree of Doctor of Business Administration (in Chinese), the University has prescribed that a student shall obtain 40 credits from compulsory courses BUS B950C and BUS B980C in Table 1. Students must successfully complete BUS B950C before being allowed to take BUS B980C.
   
3.3 Students must complete the coursework successfully before being allowed to start the DBAC Thesis.
3.4 Following the submission of the thesis, a viva voce examination will be conducted by the Award Committee, which will include an External Examiner.
