3.1 |
To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences in Law Enforcement and Security Management (Pathway 2), a student shall |

3.1.1 |
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status, and; |
|
3.1.2 |
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
|
3.1.3 |
obtain at least 120 credits in courses prescribed by the regulations, of which no more than 40 credits shall be obtained at Foundation level and at least 20 credits in courses at Higher level. |
3.2 |
For the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences in Law Enforcement and Security Management (Pathway 2), the University has prescribed that a student must: |

3.2.1 |
have successfully completed the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Security Management (in Chinese) (30 credits); or the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Customs Management (in Chinese) (30 credits); and |
|
3.2.2 |
successfully complete 20 credits of compulsory courses labelled BC in Table 1 (i.e. LESM A201 and LESM A204); and |
|
3.2.3 |
successfully complete 20 credits from courses labelled BF in Table 1; and |
|
3.2.4 |
successfully complete 20 credits from courses labelled BM in Table 1; and |
|
3.2.5 |
successfully complete 20 credits from courses labelled BH in Table 1, of which 10 credits should be from LESM A301 or LESM A305; and |
|
3.2.6 |
successfully complete an additional 10 credits from any courses in Table 1 or any Foundation, Middle or Higher level courses offered by the University.*# |

Of the 120 credits required for the attainment of the degree, students can complete up to 40 credits of courses (including the 30 credits counted towards the Certificate in LESM/LECM under para 3.2.1) in a language of instruction other than English. |

Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management (BSSCHLESM4) |
4.1 |
To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management (Pathway 4), a student shall |
|
4.1.1 |
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status, and; |
|
4.1.2 |
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
|
4.1.3 |
obtain at least 80 credits, of which at least 40 credits in courses at Higher level; and |
|
4.1.4 |
successfully complete the prescribed programme of studies. |
4.2 |
For the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management (Pathway 4), the University has prescribed that a student must: |

4.2.1 |
successfully complete 20 credits of compulsory courses labelled PC in Table 1 (i.e. LESM A201* and LESM A304); and |
|
4.2.2 |
successfully complete 20 credits from courses labelled BHM# in Table 1; and |
|
4.2.3 |
successfully complete 40 credits from courses labelled BHH in Table 1, of which 10 credits should be from LESM A301 or LESM A305. |

If LESM A201 is already taken in fulfilment of the Diploma in Law Enforcement and Security Management, students are required to choose 10 credits from courses labelled BHM other than those taken in fulfilment for the said Diploma programme, 4.2.2 above, subject to the condition that no more than 25 credits of BHM courses presented in Chinese should be taken. |

4.3 |
Each degree with Honours shall be conferred with a classification of First Class, Second Class (Upper Division), Second Class (Lower Division) or Third Class save that exceptionally a degree may be conferred without classification. |
4.4 |
Subject to the requirements of the relevant programme of study, each person on whom an Honours degree is to be conferred shall be assigned to a classification determined by the University according to its regulations. |
4.5 |
For the calculation of scores for classification purposes in the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management, the University has deemed that “Group (a)” shall consist of the best 40 credits in courses at Higher level listed in Table 1, and that “Group (b)” shall consist of the best 40 credits in courses at Higher or Middle level listed in Table 1, where such credits are not taken into account in “Group (a)” . Further, that “X” shall equal one, that is “Group (a)” and “Group (b)” shall be equally weighted. (Refer to the paragraphs on Classification of the Degree with Honours of the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees.) |
5. |
Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management (BSSCHLESM5) |
5.1 |
To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management (Pathway 5), a student shall |

5.1.1 |
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status, and; |
|
5.1.2 |
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
|
5.1.3 |
obtain at least 160 credits, of which no more than 40 credits shall be obtained at Foundation level, and at least 50 credits shall be obtained at Higher level; and |
|
5.1.4 |
successfully complete the prescribed programme of studies. |
5.2 |
For the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Law Enforcement and Security Management (Pathway 5), the University has prescribed that a student must: |

5.2.1 |
have successfully completed the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Security Management (in Chinese) (30 credits+); or the Certificate in Law Enforcement and Customs Management (in Chinese) (30 credits+); and |
|
5.2.2 |
successfully complete 30 credits of compulsory courses labelled PC in Table 1 (i.e. LESM A201, LESM A204 and LESM A304); and |

5.2.3 |
successfully complete 30 credits from courses labelled BHM in Table 1; and |

5.2.4 |
successfully complete 40 credits from courses labelled BHH in Table 1, of which 10 credits should be from LESM A301 or LESM A305; and |

successfully complete 10 credits from courses labelled BHF in Table 1; and |
