9. | To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in Chinese), a student shall: |
| a) | comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
| b) | comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
| c) | obtain at least 160 credits of which no more than 40 credits shall be obtained at Foundation level; and |
| d) | obtain at least 50 credits in courses at Higher level; and |
| e) | successfully complete the prescribed programme of studies. |
10. | For the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in Chinese), the University has prescribed that a student must: |
| a) | successfully complete 20 credits from four compulsory courses labelled CCF and ECF in Table 1 (CHIN A171C, CHIN A172C, ENGL A131 and ENGL A132); and |
| b) * | successfully complete 20 credits from the Translation courses labelled TC in Table 1; and |
| c) * | successfully complete 60 credits from the Chinese courses labelled CC, and 40 credits from the English courses labelled EC in Table 1; and |
| * | Of the 120 credits gained from paragraphs 10b) and 10c), students must complete at least 50 credits in courses at Higher level. |
| d) | successfully complete 20 credits from any Foundation, Middle or Higher level courses offered by the University, provided that, of the total 160 credits, no more than 40 credits are gained at Foundation level. |
Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in English) (BAHCEE) |
11. | To be eligible for the award of the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in English), a student shall: |
| a) | comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and |
| b) | comply with the Regulations for the Award of Undergraduate Degrees; and |
| c) | obtain at least 160 credits of which no more than 40 credits shall be obtained at Foundation level; and |
| d) | obtain at least 50 credits in courses at Higher level; and |
| e) | successfully complete the prescribed programme of studies. |
12. | For the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in English), the University has prescribed that a student must: |

13. | Each degree with Honours shall be conferred with a classification of First Class, Second Class (Upper Division), Second Class (Lower Division) or Third Class save that exceptionally a degree may be conferred without classification. |
14. | Subject to the requirements of the relevant programme of study, each person on whom an Honours degree is to be conferred shall be assigned to a classification determined by the University according to its regulations. |
15. | For the calculation of scores for classification purposes in the degree of Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English or Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in Chinese) or Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Chinese and English (Specialization in English), the University has deemed that “Group (a)” shall consist of the best 40 credits in courses at Higher level listed in Table 1, and that “Group (b)” shall consist of the best 40 credits in courses at Higher or Middle level listed in Table 1, where such credits are not taken into account in “Group (a)”. Further, that “X” shall equal one, that is “Group (a)” and “Group (b)” shall be equally weighted.
