Regulations for the Associate of Arts in Chinese Humanities
These regulations are made under paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees).

In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.

Associate of Arts in Chinese Humanities (AACH)
1. To be eligible for the award of the Associate of Arts in Chinese Humanities, a student shall:
  a) comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and
  b) comply with the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees); and
  c) obtain at least 80 credits* in courses prescribed by the regulations.
  * Of the 80 credits required for the attainment of the Associate Degree, students can complete up to 10 credits of courses in a language of instruction other than Chinese.
2. For the Associate of Arts in Chinese Humanities, the University has prescribed that a student must:
  a) successfully complete 20 credits from Foundation level courses labelled CF in Table 1; and
  b) successfully complete 30 credits from Middle level courses labelled CM in Table 1; and
  c) successfully complete 10 credits from Higher level courses labelled CH in Table 1; and
  d) successfully complete 10 credits from courses in Table 2; and
  e) successfully complete an additional 10 credits from courses labelled CF and CM in Table 1.

Notes:

  1. CHIN A161C was replaced by CHIN A162C and CHIN A163C from April 1997. Students who have successfully completed CHIN A161C will be deemed to have satisfied the requirements of CHIN A162C and CHIN A163C labelled CF.
     
  2. The following is a list of phased out and replacement courses. A student who has previously successfully completed the phased out course will not be permitted to register on the corresponding replacement course.

  5. Courses no longer available.
     
  6. CHST A202C has been replaced by CHIN A202C. Students who have successfully completed CHST A202C will be deemed to have satisfied the requirements of CHIN A202C.
     
  7. HIST A213C has been replaced by CHIN A213C. Students who have successfully completed HIST A213C will be deemed to have satisfied the requirements of CHIN A213C.
     
  8. SOSC A111C has been replaced by SOSC A121C and SOSC A122C. Students who have successfully completed SOSC A111C will be deemed to have satisfied the requirements of SOSC A121C and SOSC A122C.
