Doctor of Engineering
Programme description
The Doctor of Engineering, a professional doctorate programme, is intended for engineering professionals to pursue a profession-oriented research project leading to a doctorate degree. The research may be related to a real-life problem, for example, encountered in the daily work of a practicing engineer.
Programme requirements
The Doctor of Engineering programme will admit students in the Autumn term only.
Programme-specific entry requirement: The Doctor of Engineering programme will admit students in the Autumn Term only. The minimum entry requirement is a Master's Degree in Engineering or Science. The number of student places for the programme is limited and admission is on a competitive basis. |
A student admitted to the programme will be required to complete 40 or more credits of course work, depending on the background of the student, before proceeding to the research project.
A typical part-time student will spend two years to complete the course work and another two years to conduct research and write the thesis.
There is no credit exemption for the course work or thesis part of the programme.
There are separate admission procedures for this programme.
