All Communications Technology programmes, including those with pathways, are phasing out starting from the 2021 Spring Term. For new admission, please consider other programmes.

Programme description

This programme provides comprehensive knowledge of the basic principles of telecommunications and computer communications, their applications in communications technology, and the basis of existing communications practices. Students will also be able to analyse and design advanced communication systems. The Honours programme provides students with advanced knowledge and specialization, as well as the training needed to handle independent project work.

Graduates will be qualified to take up employment as communications technologists and network administrators/managers in the communications industry.

(g) 20 credits from any Foundation, Middle or Higher level courses offered by the University, provided that, of the total 160 credits, no more than 40 are gained at Foundation level.

Students are required to complete 160 credits but they may opt to graduate with the Bachelor of Science in Communications Technology [BSCCT] (120 credits) after completing the required number of credits and fulfilling the requirements of the programme regulations.
