Aims

The course aims to analyse in-depth the nature and characteristics of legal translation, to identify the linguistic and interpretation problems inherent in more complex texts, and to solve these problems satisfactorily.

Learning support

By taking the course, students should learn to evaluate translated texts in the legal field critically; to translate hands-on and complex legal texts using the skills and techniques covered in the course; and to carry out preliminary research in the field of legal translation.

Assessment

The course assessment is based on continuous assessment (100%), in which the in-class assessment comprises 15%; the research essay, 35%; and the in-class quiz, 50%.

Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
