Aims

This course aims to provide students with the principles and practices of various conformity assessment activities and laboratory accreditation. In this course, students will gain a robust understanding of the laboratory management and technical requirements according to ISO 15189.

This course covers the following topics:

  • Fundamentals of conformity assessment activities
  • Accreditation system
  • Management requirements
  • Technical requirements
  • The Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme

Assessment

Course assessment includes continuous assessment and a final examination. Continuous assessment includes a mid-term test and an oral presentation.
