Aims

This course aims to equip students to deal with complex issues relating to end-of-life care with competence, and to evaluate evidence-based practice in meeting the end-of-life care needs of clients and their families. Students will be guided to apply analytical and critical thinking skills in promoting and advancing end-of-life care, and to critically self-reflect on practising end-of-life care.

Contents

  • Course introduction and pre-clinical workshops for clinical placement
  • Two-week clinical practice in a setting in The Jockey Club Home for Hospice (JCHH) or other relevant clinical settings
    Students are expected to provide end-of-life care to clients in clinical setting. They will conduct observation and hands-on practice for clinical placement.
