This course is one of the compulsory courses in year 2 of the Master of Nursing (Chinese Medicinal Nursing) programme. It is only available to students currently enrolled in the Master of Nursing (Chinese Medicinal Nursing) programme.

Mandatory prerequisite(s)

Students are required to have studied courses COMP 3110SED and COMP 3590SED before studying this course.

Aims

This course aims to facilitate students to consolidate and critically apply research knowledge in conducting a research project in relation to Chinese medicinal nursing.

Contents

  • Research process — conceptual, design and planning, empirical, analytic and dissemination phases
  • Unique features of scientific enquiry in Chinese medicine/Chinese medicinal nursing
  • Chinese-English medical terminologies (Chinese medicine/Chinese medicinal nursing)
  • Writing and presentation of research proposal and research report.

Contact hours

Normally 3–4 hours per week

Assessment

The assessment consists of group presentation, group research report and individual assignment. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).

A computer with a word-processing software, preferably Microsoft Word, installed.
