Only students in the Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration (PCBUSA) programme may enrol in this course.

Aims

This course aims to develop and broaden students' existing knowledge and skills in management and marketing, equipping them to navigate the complexities of managing in a changing world. It emphasises creating and sustaining value through customer-focused marketing and effective management practices. Students will explore the integration of ethics and leadership across diverse business areas, and with a focus on making informed and responsible decisions. Through both independent and collaborative learning, this course prepares students to apply their understanding and develop the management and leadership capabilities needed to succeed in complex and changing organisational contexts.

This course covers the following topics:

  • Management in a changing world
  • Creating and sustaining value
  • Customer-focused marketing
  • Ethics and leadership: Integration across management practice

Learning support

There will be six two-hour online lectures, and two six-hour compulsory face-to-face day schools.

Assessment

There will be two written assignments and an oral presentation (compulsory assignment). Students are required to complete their assignments using word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) and submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).

Students will need access to a personal computer with an Internet connection.
