Aims
This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the operation of the Hong Kong economy, with particular emphasis on the salient factors affecting its performance.

Contents
This course cover the following topics:

Introduction to the Hong Kong economy from a historical perspective, which describes the important milestones of Hong Kong's economic development
Examination of the major sectors in the economy, including the industrial, financial, real estate, public utilities, and foreign trade sectors
Analysis of the issues of the labour market and public finance
Discussion of the problems and prospects of the Hong Kong economy

Learning support
There will be 13 two-hour tutorials and two day schools.

Assessment
There will be four assignments and a final examination. Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
