Aims

The overall aims of this course are to:

  • analyse the economic behaviour of individuals in the business and public sectors;
  • evaluate the behaviour of firms under different market structures; and
  • acquire knowledge in the theories of consumption and production, theories of various market structures, market failure and the roles of government.

Learning support

There will be 12 contact hours of tutorials for this course.

Assessment

There will be two compulsory assignments and a final examination. The assignments will carry 50% of the final mark and the final examination will account for the other 50%.

Online requirement

Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
