Aims

The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge about the macroeconomy that is essential for understanding the outcomes of interactions between different groups of people and sectors in society.

  • What is macroeconomics?
  • The data of macroeconomics
  • The real economy in the long run
  • Money and prices in the long run
  • Short-run economic fluctuations

Learning support

There will be 12 contact hours of tutorials for this course.

Assessment

Two assignments and one final examination — the two compulsory assignments carry 50% weighting and the final exam counts for the other 50% of the final mark. 

Online Requirement

Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
