Aims
The course aims to introduce students to the major concepts and theories of globalisation, as well as the social and cultural dimensions of globalisation. It also aims at enabling students to critically engage with competing perspectives of globalisation, evaluate the effects of globalisation on poverty and national/local cultures, and analyse the impacts that globalisation has made on the state and its conventional functions.
Contents
Assessment
There will be two assignments, each worth 50% of the total course score.
Online requirement
Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).

There is no set book for this course. A list of key readings for each topic will be recommended to students.
