Aims

The course aims to introduce to students how to develop a scientific research and how to define and explore a research problem. It covers knowledge and skills for research design, the ethical issues related to research, data collection and data analysis in qualitative and quantitative researches, and how to present and write research findings in an academic way.

  1. Preparing the research designs and arguments
  2. Introduction to mixed methods
  3. Participant observation
  4. Quantitative research approaches and designs
  5. Data analysis in research
  6. Writing arguments and research
  7. Research ethics

Learning support

Face-to-face lectures will be conducted in this course.

Assessment

There will be no examination. Three assignments focusing on research design and proposal will be included.

Online requirement

Students are required to submit assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).
