Substantial Government funding boost for HKMU's new diagnostic radiography and robotics programmes

In the latest round of the Education Bureau's Enhancement and Start-up Grant Scheme for Self-financing Post-secondary Education, HKMU has secured over HK$77 million in funding to establish two new undergraduate programmes in 2026–27: Bachelor of Science with Honours in Diagnostic Radiography and Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in Robotics and Automation Engineering. The former, with an expected intake of 60 students in the first cohort, adopts a unique design of the bachelor-master (4+1 years) pathway which prepares students to become diagnostic radiographers and sonographers in the healthcare field. The latter equips students with essential skills to apply automation and retrofit robotics solutions across various industries, with an expected annual intake of 60 students.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that HKMU has received funding from this scheme. The amount granted this year has more than doubled compared to last year, reflecting the Government's trust and recognition of our continuous efforts in nurturing professional talent to meet industry needs.
