OUHK hails 2012 Nobel Literature Prize winner Dr Mo Yan

The OUHK extends congratulations to our honorary graduand Dr Mo Yan for winning the 2012 Nobel Prize in Literature. He is the first Chinese writer to win the prize.

The OUHK conferred on Dr Mo the degree of Doctor of Letters, honoris causa, in 2005 for his outstanding literary achievements. In the same year, he gave a Tai Ning Public Seminar on 'Chinese Literature as World Literature: Writer, Translator and Critics'. Online video of the seminar is now available at the OUHK Open Learning Platform. The video will also be broadcast on 21 October (Sun) at 11:55 am on TVB Pearl during 'Open for Learning' TV programme.

'Name a Desk' and multiply your support through the Government's Matching Grant Scheme

The Government's Sixth Matching Grant Scheme is launched on 1 August. The OUHK invites all its community members to continue their support towards the New College project by sending us timely gifts for the 'Name a Desk' fundraising campaign. This will help us reap the most from the Grant, so that more resources will be available for financing the project.

*Donors who contribute $6,000 or above towards the 'Name a Desk' fundraising campaign will be acknowledged with their names to be printed on a desk in one of the lecture halls of the New College.
