    International Education Forum and Expo  
   

The OUHK will take part in the International Education Forum and Expo organized by the Education Bureau for students, parents and the general public to learn first-hand information about the academic reform in 2012. Admission is free.

    Preparatory Workshop & Free Try-out Course (in Chinese)  
   

The half-day Preparatory Workshop is designed to prepare working adults to study for a degree by distance learning without disrupting their normal work schedule. Participants will have a free try-out course to experience the uniqueness of the OUHK's distance learning education.

    New entry pathway for Bachelor of Nursing programme  
 

From October 2011 semester onwards, registered nurses of the Nursing Council of Hong Kong are eligible to enter the Bachelor of Nursing programme via the new pathway. They are only required to study as few as 40 credits without the need to apply for credit exemption.

 
 

   

 
      New postgraduate and certificate programmes in engineering  
   

Doctor of Engineering

 

It is a professional doctorate programme intended for engineering professionals. A typical part-time student will spend two years to complete the course work and another two years to conduct research and write the thesis.

 
   

   

 
   

Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

 

The programme is a partnership between China Aircraft Services Limited (CASL) and the OUHK to provide education and training opportunities to CASL aircraft maintenance staff and to prepare them to sit for the Civil Aviation Department's HKAR–66 Aircraft Maintenance License examinations (Categories A and B1). The certificate also provides for an articulation pathway to the BSc (Hons)/BSc in Engineering Mechanics, Materials and Design, and the BSc (Hons)/BSc in Product Design and Technology programmes at the OUHK.

 
   

   

 
      Postgraduate Certificate in Enterprise Computing  
   

The programme equips graduates with advanced knowledge and skills in developing proper computing solutions for enterprises. Courses will cover topics like enterprise architectures and latest mainframe computing technologies. This programme, delivered with the support of the IBM China/Hong Kong Limited, will prepare students to deal with technology issues pertinent to business processes of enterprises. Graduates may continue to pursue the Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications at the OUHK.

    Italian Cheese Appreciation Workshop (in Cantonese)  
   

The Alumni Affairs Office of the Public Affairs Unit will organize an Italian Cheese Appreciation Workshop to raise fund for the OUHK Alumni Scholarship and Bursary Fund. To show its appreciation to alumni who make an annual donation of HK$1,000 or more for three consecutive years, the Alumni Affairs Office will invite the donor to the workshop with an accompanied guest.
 

 
     

Details: Italian food specialist Mr Massimo Sfriso will lead off the workshop with stories surrounding three amazing Italian proverbs about cheese. Participants will also learn about the history and classification of cheese. At least six kinds of cheeses, paired with boutique wines from winery La Tenuta di Aljano, will be offered for them to test their palates.
