University Updates
HKMU held its first physical career fair post-Covid between 7 and 9 Mar, bringing students 2,000+ job vacancies and internship places from over 100 employers coming from more than 20 sectors.
Held at D2 Place from 25–26 Feb, the weekend market offers students an avenue to try their hands at entrepreneurship, and for winners of MetroChallenge 2021–22 to present their innovative projects to the public.

The HKMU team comprised 130 students, alumni and staff members, while President Prof. Paul Lam, staff members of the Student Affairs Office and some 20 students gathered together to cheer for the runners.

The Home Health Watch Health Volunteer Training Programme, bearing the theme of end-of-life care this year, will train volunteers of participating groups through seminars, workshops and visits. A kick-off ceremony was held on 25 Feb with the opening address delivered by Dr Li Kwok-tung, Chairman of the Elderly Commission.

Research & Knowledge Transfer

HKMU has just received a HK$3.82 million grant from the Government's Smart Traffic Fund for the development of a VR-based Driving System for driving practice and mock tests! The research work, now led by Dr William Lai at the Department of Creative Arts, originated from a student project. The system will familiarise learner-drivers with different traffic conditions — hence less traffic brought by driving practice on the actual test routes.
