Virus protection and network security software
To protect personal data against virus attacks or other intrusions, all the
staff and the students are highly recommended to install anti-virus and firewall
software in their mobile computing devices, e.g., notebooks, tablets and smart
phones etc.. Moreover, virus definitions
for anti-virus software and other security patches of the software should also
be updated regularly.
It is important to note that, for all suspected mobile computing devices
connected to the Campus Network, the University reserves all rights to stop
their network connections once abnormal activities/ traffic due to virus attacks
or other intrusions are being logged.
Built-in firewall software is bundled in OS platforms, e.g., Windows Firewall under Microsoft Windows and Application Firewall under Mac OS X etc.. You are reminded to activate the firewalls at all times to protect you devices against threats from Internet. Please be aware that conflicts among your software applications may sometimes be encountered and must be settled during the installation process
