A Minor is a selection of courses constituting a secondary discipline of study that complements the Major in a programme leading to the award of a Bachelor’s degree with Honours. The Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) offers the option for students enrolled in certain Honours degree programmes to pursue a Minor alongside their Major, subject to programme-specific regulations.<\/p>

The Minor allows students to broaden their academic scope by exploring an additional area of interest while fulfilling the requirements of their primary field of study. To be eligible for the award of a Minor, students must complete at least 15 credit-units in courses specified by the Minor programme, achieve a minimum cGPA of 1.70 for those courses, and meet all requirements for their Honours degree.<\/p>

Yes, the award of a Minor is only conferred when a student satisfies the requirements of both the Bachelor's degree with Honours and the Minor. If the Minor requirements are not met, the student can graduate with the Bachelor's degree with Honours without the Minor.
