class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Students should complete the required number of GE courses, <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>each from a different &#8216;field of study&#8217; other than the same &#8216;field(s) of study&#8217; of their study programmes<\/strong>.<\/span> The requirement is applicable to students admitted in 2018\/19 and thereafter.<\/p><p>The University embarked on an Academic Reform to transform from \u201c5-credit system\u201d to \u201c3-credit-unit system\u201d. The change will benefit students by promoting student mobility and internationalization.<\/p><p>\u201c3-credit-unit system\u201d refers to the new curriculum structure after the academic reform. Courses under the \u201c3-Credit-Unit System\u201d are basically assigned credit-unit values in multiples of 3 and categorized into 1000-, 2000-, 3000-, 4000-, and 8000- levels. This is in contrast with the old curriculum structure under the \u201c5-credit System\u201d under which courses are basically assigned credit values in multiples of 5 and categorized into Foundation, Middle, and Higher levels.<\/p><p><strong>Please note that students can only take courses under the credit system of the declared programme<\/strong> (i.e. students should only choose 5-credit system courses if their programme is a 5-credit system programme while those under 3-credit- unit programmes should only choose 3-credit-unit system courses in order to fulfil their graduation
