Three student teams from HKMU showcased their innovative and entrepreneurial spirit at the 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.<\/p>

    In the Innovation: Information Technology category, the team of Li Sin Chiu, Cheng Wing Choi, Cheng Yui Wang, Zhou Wenhui were awarded Third Prize. This project, \u201cJoyVista AR Intelligent Subtitle Glasses\u201d, developed in collaboration with industry partner Innospire Technology Limited, presents an innovative AR-based assistive communication tool: Subtitle Smart Glasses. Designed for hearing-impaired individuals in Hong Kong, the system addresses critical limitations of existing speech-to-text tools, such as voice overlap in multi-speaker settings and the lack of support for expressive sign language.<\/p>

    In the Innovation: Information Technology category, Yu Ching Ting was awarded Third Prize. The project, \u201cVeriVox: Real-Time Audio Deepfake Detector\u201d, aims to provide an accessible, low-cost real-time audio deepfake detector that runs locally on low-cost IoT devices with a web-based interface, so that everyday users, families, and small businesses can quickly verify suspicious voice messages or calls without sending data to the cloud.<\/p>

    Organised by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association since 2015, the Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is the largest competition of its kind in Hong Kong. This year, it received a record 753 project submissions from 2,166 participants representing 30 tertiary institutions.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
