class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><em><strong>Title<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Object Tracking Using Multiset Combinatorial Gray Code<\/p><p><strong style=\"font-style: italic;\">Abstract<\/strong><\/p><p>We consider the tracking problem of an object that can randomly appear on a grid. We would like to determine the position of the object and rely on sensors that can detect with a predefined range and report that to a remote observer. The sensors are equipped with a transmitter that has a limited data rate. Once a sensor is triggered, it transmits its own ID to inform. A straightforward protocol is to label each sensor with different ID. However, this would require a large number of unique IDs and many bits to represent. We propose a newly defined protocol using multiset combinatorial Gray code with optimized design in reusing a much smaller number of IDs for the whole system. We would only require the minimal number of bits for each sensor. We show the factor of reduction and some optimal constructions for the required multiset coding. We would also illustrate the general upper and lower bounds for the system and design. The dominant paradigm derives from the classical theory of de Bruijn sequences, where a reader has access to a window within a larger code and can determine its position if these windows are distinct. In this work, we propose a new model due to several practical engineering application scenarios and show new results. He also holds a position of Permanent Member at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">LINCS<\/span>.<\/p><p>Prior to joining Bell Labs, he worked at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">INRIA<\/span>, in the research group on Network Theory &amp; Communications (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">TREC<\/span>, INRIA-ENS). He was an ERCIM Alain Bensoussan Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science &amp; Technology (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NTNU<\/span>, Department of Electronics &amp; Telecommunications) and the National Center for Mathematics &amp; Computer Science (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CWI<\/span>, Amsterdam). He was an Assistant Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CUHK<\/span>). He worked at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CNRS<\/span> in Lorraine on Real-Time &amp; Embedded Systems.<\/p><p>Calvin has served as TPC in international conferences including ICC, Globecom, WCNC, INFOCOM, PIMRC, VTC, CCNC and WiOpt (TPC Vice Chair). He is an Editor of European Trans. on Telecommunications (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ETT<\/span>) and an Associate Editor of Telecommunication Systems (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Springer<\/span>). He is an IEEE Senior Member. His research spans a wide range of topics in information &amp; communication engineering, 5G\/6G, IoT, wireless network, indoor positioning, resource allocation &amp; scheduling problem, intelligent system, and learning algorithm.
