Regulations for the Associate of Science in Information Technology <\/span><\/td>

<\/p>

These regulations are made under paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees).<\/p>

In these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.<\/p>
Associate of Science in Information Technology (ASIT)<\/span><\/b><\/td><\/tr>
1.<\/div><\/td>
To be eligible for the award of the Associate of Science in Information Technology<\/b>, a student shall: <\/b><\/div><\/td><\/tr>
\u00a0<\/td>
a)<\/div><\/td>
comply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
\u00a0<\/td>
b)<\/div><\/td>
comply with the Regulations for the Award of Sub-degree Qualifications (Sub-degrees); and<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
\u00a0<\/td>
c)<\/div><\/td>
obtain at least 80 credits in courses prescribed by the regulations.<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
2.<\/div><\/td>
For the Associate of Science in Information Technology<\/b>, the University has prescribed that a student must:<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
\u00a0<\/td>
a)<\/div><\/td>
successfully complete 40 credits from Foundation level courses in Table 1; and<\/div><\/td><\/tr>
\u00a0<\/td>
b)<\/div><\/td>
successfully complete 40 credits from Middle or Higher level courses in Table 1.<\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

  1. Courses form excluded combinations<\/a> with other courses. Only one of the courses of the excluded combinations can count towards an OUHK award. Students should refer to the list of excluded combinations<\/a> for details.<\/li>
  2. Courses presented in full time face-to-face mode. They are identical to courses with the same course code but without the suffix “F”. For example, BUS B100 and BUS B100F are the same except for the mode of delivery. Students who have successfully completed courses presented in full time face-to-face mode are not allowed to take the same courses in the distance learning mode, and vice versa.<\/span><\/li>
  3. IT E150,<\/span> MATH S121, COMP S201<\/span>, COMP S263<\/span>, COMP S269 and COMP S359<\/span> have replaced their older version. Successful completion of the older version will be considered as completion of the newer version; i.e.

    IT E150 = IT L150<\/span><\/p>

    MATH S121 = MATH S111 = MATH S101 (MATH S101 can only be counted as 10 credit against the programme requirements)<\/span><\/p>

  6. If students have successful completed BUS B100\/BUS B100F, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements for BUS B103\/BUS B103F.<\/span><\/li>
  7. If students have successful completed BIS B121\/BIS B121F, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements for BIS B123\/BIS B123F.<\/span><\/li>
  8. ENGL E100 has been replaced by ENGL E110 and ENGL E120. If students have successful completed ENGL E100, they are deemed to have satisfied the requirements for ENGL E110 and ENGL E120.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>
