Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology, <\/span><\/h3>\n

Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications, and <\/span><\/h3>\n

Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications<\/span><\/h3>\n
\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
1.<\/span><\/b><\/td>\nGeneral<\/span><\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
1.1<\/td>\nThese regulations are made under paragraph 1 to<\/span> 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees and paragraphs 1 to 4 of the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
1.2<\/td>\nIn these regulations definitions shall apply as in the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees and Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates and in the Interpretation Section of the Academic Rules and Regulations.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
1.3<\/span><\/td>\nThe Regulations Governing the Articulation of Qualifications shall apply for conversion of the Postgraduate Cerificate in Enterprise Computing<\/strong>, Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology<\/strong>, and Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications<\/strong><\/span> to the award of Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications<\/strong>.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2.<\/span><\/b><\/td>\nEntry Requirements<\/span><\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2.1<\/td>\nTo enter the Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology<\/span><\/b> or<\/span><\/strong><\/span> Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications<\/strong><\/span> or the<\/span><\/span> Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications<\/b> programme, a student shall normally possess:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n2.1.1<\/span><\/td>\na recognized degree in computing or related fields (see note 1 to Table 1) or its equivalent; or <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n2.1.2<\/span><\/td>\na recognized degree in mathematics, science or engineering with a minor in computing or related fields (see note 1 to Table 1) or its equivalent; or <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n2.1.3<\/span><\/td>\na recognized degree in mathematics, science or engineering plus one year working experience in information technology; or<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n2.1.4<\/span><\/td>\na recognized degree in any area with substantial (at least five years) working experience at supervisory level in information technology; or<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n2.1.5<\/span><\/td>\na qualification equivalent to the OUHK’s Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology (PCIT).<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3.<\/span><\/b><\/td>\nPostgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology (PCMIT) (See Note 4)<\/span><\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3.1<\/span><\/td>\nTo be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology<\/b>, a student shall:<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n3.1.1<\/span><\/td>\ncomply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n3.1.2<\/span><\/td>\ncomply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates; and<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n3.1.3<\/span><\/td>\nobtain at least 20 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the postgraduate certificate for which notice has been given.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3.2<\/span><\/td>\nFor the Postgraduate Certificate in Multimedia and Internet Technology<\/b>, the University has prescribed that a student must:<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n3.2.1<\/span><\/td>\nsuccessfully complete 10 credits from the compulsory course labelled CM in Table 1; and<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n3.2.2<\/span><\/td>\nsuccessfully complete 10 credits from courses labelled IE in Table 1.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4.<\/span><\/b><\/td>\nPostgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications (PDITA) (See Note 4)<\/span><\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4.1<\/span><\/td>\nTo be eligible for the award of the Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications<\/strong>, a student shall:<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n4.1.1<\/span><\/td>\ncomply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n4.1.2<\/span><\/td>\ncomply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates; and<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n4.1.3<\/span><\/td>\nobtain at least 40 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the postgraduate diploma for which notice has been given.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4.2<\/span><\/td>\nFor the Postgraduate Diploma in Internet Technology and Applications<\/strong>, the University has prescribed that a student must:<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n4.2.1<\/span><\/td>\nsuccessfully complete 40 credits from compulsory courses labelled PD in Table 1.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5.<\/span><\/b><\/td>\nMaster of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications (MSCITIA) (See Note 4)<\/span><\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5<\/span>.1<\/td>\nTo be eligible for the award of the Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications<\/b>, a student shall:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n5<\/span>.1.1<\/td>\ncomply with the Regulations for Admission, Registration and Maintenance of Status; and<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n5<\/span>.1.2<\/td>\ncomply with the Regulations for the Award of Postgraduate Degrees; and<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n5<\/span>.1.3<\/td>\nobtain at least 60 credits in courses at Postgraduate level prescribed by the regulations as appropriate to the master of science degree for which notice has been given.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5<\/span>.2<\/td>\nFor the Master of Science in Information Technology with Internet Applications<\/b>, the University has prescribed that a student must successfully complete 60 credits from courses in Table 1, of which at least 20 credits must be labelled IA or PJ.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
