Welcome to the School of Science and Technology (S&T), Hong Kong Metropolitan University.\u00a0 Whether you are a prospective or current student, alumnus, colleague, collaborator or visitor, I hope you will enjoy browsing\u00a0through our website and find useful information here.<\/p>

Science is to acquire new knowledge through observations and experiments, while technology is to create products that solve problems and improve human life.\u00a0 The School aims at equipping students with professional knowledge to contribute to a better society and better life.\u00a0 We offer a wide range of programmes in Applied Sciences, Information Technology, and Engineering.\u00a0 Currently, we have around 1,500 full-time undergraduate students, 1,000 full-time postgraduate students and 1,000 part-time students.\u00a0<\/p>

The School established the Institute for Research in Innovation Technology and Sustainability (IRITS) in 2014 to facilitate and promote research.\u00a0 Our primary research interests are Smart City and Environmental Science.\u00a0 The faculty members at the School have outstanding performance in research.\u00a0 They are awarded prestigious research grants from Research Grants Council (RGC) and other funding agencies. In addition, their research results appear in top-tier journals in science and technology.<\/p>
