The ample opportunities and rapid development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area aspired Chan Yu Mei to start her business there.<\/p>

Noting Guangdong province has been advocating energy conservation in recent years, Chan thought of launching a water atomization faucet to save water in handwashing in her final year project. Chan and her teammates worked on the cluster market research, initial design and faucet prototype.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cThe device adopts the low pressure and high-efficiency fogging technology, which greatly reduces mechanical water flow by air currents to clean stains. After the device was prototyped, we initially concluded that it could save up to 50% water.\u201d Chan adds she learnt this water-saving technology while studying Physics at secondary school and kindled the business inspiration at HKMU. \u201cI have learnt the knowledge to start up a business at HKMU, like how to draft a business lean canvas and develop prototyping.\u201d

Chan's promising idea helps her win the HSBC Greater Bay Area (Hong Kong) Scholarship, which was first launched last year to support Hong Kong undergraduate students to work in the Greater Bay Area. Chan will invest the HK$80,000 scholarship in the project and soon approach factories and the community in Shenzhen to seek cooperation and try to sell the product online.<\/p>
