Non-local students need a valid student visa to attend classes on campus. The visa will expire if you have not activated it by entering the Hong Kong border within 3 months after its issuance. The University will assist students to apply for re-issuance of visa as necessary. Please note that it takes 4-6 weeks for visa re-issuance. The fee of the first-time re-issuance will be borne by the University.

The University has announced that all lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions will be delivered face-to-face in 2021 Autumn term starting on 20 September 2021. The term timetable you will receive by late August will have all the details. For practicums, arrangements will be made by individual Schools and information will be sent to students concerned separately. For more details, please refer to the announcement of the 2021/22 Autumn Term Teaching & Learning Arrangements.

Non-local students who will be arriving in Hong Kong for their face-to-face classes or lectures should closely monitor the quarantine requirements imposed by the Hong Kong SAR Government and make travel plans accordingly. The University will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and make any necessary adjustments as and when required. The latest information will be published by the University on the website.

For Non-local students living in Off-campus Accommodation (OCA)
If students are coming back from China or any other places, and assigned an OCA (Hung Hom/ Mongkok) in 2021/22, who are required to undergo compulsory quarantine by the Hong Kong SAR Government, you should make your arrangements of quarantine accommodation before entering OCA for check-in arrangement. If you need support on it, you should contact the Student Affairs Office (oca@ouhk.edu.hk) 10 working days in advance.


For Non-local students living in Self-arranged Accommodation
You should make your arrangements of quarantine accommodation and the accommodation after quarantine. If you need more information on quarantine accommodation and self-arranged accommodation, please contact Student Affairs Office (oca@ouhk.edu.hk).

Non-local student should present your original copy of valid student visa, landing slip and Hong Kong identity card for a record to the University upon arrival in Hong Kong.

For UG students

Student Affairs Office provides support to non-local students of their adjustment to get the most from the life experience and resources in Hong Kong and OUHK. Engagement opportunities include local dialect learning, life and cultural explore and peer support. Counseling is available through flexible means and platforms (including online), based on need.  Students can make appointments via email to our counselor Ms Kayla Wang at kwang@ouhk.edu.hk. The content and personal information will remain confidential.

The University has also offered a variety of resources to support students.  Should students encounter abrupt financial difficulties, please approach Student Affairs Office (Email: sao@ouhk.edu.hk/ Website: Click Here).

The University plans to resume face-to-face classes on 20 September 2021, with the ultimate aim of gradually returning to normal teaching and learning activities by the end of this year.  With this goal in mind, you are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated before the start of the new academic year.  

All eligible persons aged 16 can receive free vaccination under COVID-19 Vaccination Programme by the HKSAR Government. For more details, please visit their website.

To help Non-local students adjust to Hong Kong and university life, a series of Orientation Programmes will be held in mid-July 2021 for Direct Applicants who have accepted the offer, and early September 2021 for all non-local freshmen respectively.

If you have not submitted your photo yet, you will not be able to receive the Student ID card. Please submit your photo as soon as possible via MyOUHK.
