【Now Open for Application】 The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Awards (Hong Kong) 2023

The Award 2023 is organized by Hong Kong New Emerging Technology Education Association (HKNETEA), supported by the Education Bureau (EDB)，Innovation and Technology Commission（ITC) and Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO).

The introduction of “ArtTech” theme in 2022 allowed many students (including different faculties/departments) more opportunities to show their artistic flair with innovative technologies and add an extra creative atmosphere to the competition.

For 2023, we have made new breakthroughs: 1) The theme “Artificial Intelligence” is merged into “Information and Communication Technology”, 2) New themes “Metaverse” and “ESG (Environment, Social and Corporate Governance)” are included.

What new opportunities of this new challenges will bring to your students? We’ll wait for everyone to show our judges in the competition!

Objective/Details

This award aims to enhance students’ creativity and innovation, and recognise young STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) talents for their efforts. There are 6 categories of The Greater Bay Area STEM Excellence Award 2023 (HKSAR): ICT (Information and Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence has been regrouped under this category), Robotics, Science Lab, ArtTech, Metaverse and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). 

The competition is divided into Kindergarten, Primary Schools, Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools and Tertiary or above streams. Students can choose to participate in either individual or small groups of no more than six persons. In addition, Top 10 STEM Teacher Excellence Award and Top 10 STEM School Excellence Award are given to distinguished teachers and schools for their contributions.
